Benefits of Windshield Film

High Impact Resistance

Heavily reduces your chances of stone chips and cracks in your windshield — saving you from expensive replacements and recalibration.

Protects Against Etching

Your windshield gets etched by bug residue and peppered by stone chips over time. The film takes the abuse instead of your glass.

Transparent Armor

What's better than ultimate protection? Not seeing it. Our windshield film is fully transparent — protection without compromise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about window tinting? We've answered the most common questions about tint benefits, legal limits, heat rejection, durability and maintenance to help you choose the right film for your vehicle.

What is the legal window tint in Ontario?
Under Section 73 of Ontario's Highway Traffic Act (updated January 1, 2017): no aftermarket tint of any kind is permitted on the windshield — including top visor strips; front side windows must allow at least 70% of visible light through (so tint can block a maximum of 30%); rear side windows and the rear windshield can be as dark as you like, provided both side mirrors are functional. Fines for illegal tint range from $85 to $500. We'll measure your factory glass and keep your setup compliant.
Does ceramic window tint reduce heat?
Absolutely. Ceramic window tint significantly reduces interior heat by blocking infrared radiation and harmful UV rays without interfering with electronics, GPS or cellular signals. This improves cabin comfort, reduces glare and protects interior surfaces from fading — especially during harsh, humid Ontario summers.
How long does window tint last?
High-quality, professionally installed window tint can last 10 years or more depending on film quality, climate exposure and maintenance. Premium films resist fading, bubbling, peeling and discoloration far better than lower-grade products. At ZAutoCare, we use premium XPEL CS and XR window tints designed for long-term clarity, performance and durability.
Why aren't cheap window tints worth it?
Cheap films often fade, bubble, peel or turn purple over time, especially in Ontario's temperature swings. Lower-quality films also provide significantly less heat rejection, UV protection and optical clarity than premium ceramic tint. While inexpensive tint may seem appealing initially, it frequently leads to poor appearance, reduced longevity and costly removal or replacement later.
