PAINT CORRECTION
-
Unfortunately, even brand new vehicles from the factory come with paint defects and imperfections. That’s where we come in. Our stage 1 paint enhancement is typically enough to get the paint to our perfect standards depending on paint hardness and the severity of paint defects.
A paint enhancement is the choice if your vehicle has little to no swirl marks.
-
If your vehicle has been through the automatic car washes in its life paired with having a snow brush to shovel off snow in the winter and now has a moderate amount of swirl marks and scratches, a 2 stage paint correction like this service is typically what’s required to get the paint back to defect-free perfection depending on paint hardness.
-
If your vehicle has lost it’s depth of color and gloss resulting from regular automatic car washes and other abuse and is moderately to heavily swirled, depending on your paint hardness, it may require 3 stages of paint correction to cut through all the defects and scratches in the paint to bring out it’s former shine and glory.
REAL EXAMPLE
2023 BMW X6M COMPETITION
This BMW is a perfect example of how a vehicle can seem easy to fix at first glance but actually requires professional precision paint correction to restore its gloss and safely remove the damage.
The driver-side passenger doors tell the story. The image on the right shows what seems to be moderate swirl marks and light scratches in regular daylight where perhaps just a polish can restore it’s gloss correct the defects — nothing major to the untrained eye. But under proper lighting, the paint’s damage become visibly clear.
Because BMW paint is known for being on the harder side, achieving a flawless finish required three aggressive stages of paint correction. Using advanced compounds and polishing techniques, our team restored the surface to perfection. The result? The left side of the photo reveals a deep, mirror-like gloss and a finish that looks better than factory new compared to the untreated side.

The results of paint correction can last for years depending on how the vehicle is maintained afterward. At ZAutoCare, we also offer ceramic coating and paint protection film (PPF) protection help maintain paint correction results long-term.
-
Paint correction itself does not provide long-term protection, as its primary purpose is to refine and restore the paint surface. After correction is completed, we recommend applying ceramic coating or Paint Protection Film (PPF) to help protect the newly corrected finish from UV damage, contaminants and future wear.
-
Our paint correction process begins with a thorough exterior wash and full decontamination to properly prepare the vehicle’s surfaces. Once complete, the vehicle is moved into our dedicated paint correction light tunnel where sensitive trims and components are carefully protected before polishing begins. Depending on the vehicle’s condition, we then perform either a single-stage polish or a more extensive multi-stage paint correction to restore maximum gloss and clarity. Finally, we complete a full panel wipe-down to remove any polishing oils or residue before applying either a ceramic sealant or ceramic coating based on the client’s selected protection package.
